We recieved our EIN (employer identification number) on Friday, July 28. This number is necessary to complete the paperwork for filing for our 501(c)(3). It is also necessary for opening a bank and paypal account. So we are one step closer to opening our organization to membership, and a step closer to beginning the process of fulfilling our mission, purpose and objectives.

Well, its time for another update. The response to our website announcement has been great, with all comments sent our way being positive and encouraging. If you haven’t looked around yet, please do so!

The most recent addition to our committee list is our web committee. This committee is assigned the task of maintaining, updating, and enhancing the website.

Our membership committee is just about done with the membership application and with the D2Care Bylaws sections that pertain to the membership. We plan to open the organization up to membership as soon as a bit more paper work is completed.

Our funding committee is researching other aid providers for examples of criteria and policies. The committee members will use this information to set policy on how best to award financial aid. 

We are planning on implementing a fundraising committee in the next week. This should be a really fun committee charged with developing ideas and plans for raising funds to help our organization meet the stated objectives.

If anyone is interested in joining a committee, just contact us. We’ll be sure to get you set up with the appropriate group.

Yes, it’s true, we’ve been live for 2 whole days, and already we’ve made changes.

We received some wonderful ideas for improving the readability and appearance of the article on the home page (and we’ve also had people volunteer to write more, so be sure to check back).

And Myra was able to get a picture taken for her bio page (that means we now have pics of all the Board members).

Hello from your Board of Directors and a personal hello from your President (me). I’d like to invite you to take a look at the foundation of our website. It is only a small start, but I know it will continue to grow (because it seems that good websites are never really “complete”). 

This news page is our (the Board) way of keeping in touch with you, and keeping all of you up to date on the current developments within D2Care. We have plans for adoption pages, pages for member submitted articles, training pages, and eventually merchandise pages. The website is only limited by our imagination and technology. 

Recently we have created two committees. The first is a membership committee. This group is working on the benefits and responsibilities of our members. The second group is our “Funding” committee. This group is working on developing the criteria, policies and forms for allocation of D2Care funds. 

We are not currently taking memberships but will certainly post here when we do. We have a lot of work yet to do on our Bylaws and our paperwork for 501(c)(3) non-profit status. 

We would like to invite those that are interested in joining either of the committees listed above or in working with our webmaster in the continued development of this website to step forward. Just “contact us” and we will be sure you are tied up with the correct group.
